Where are you located?

We are located in Windsor, CA. We never thought we would have to answer this question, but we have received inquiries and actual registrations from Windsor, Connecticut, Windsor, Colorado and Windsor, Ontario.

Do they have to live in Windsor, CA?

No. There are no boundary restrictions on where the players live. (Though Windsor, CT and Windsor, Ontario are long commutes).  

Who can play?

Any boy or girl born between January 1, 2005 and December 31, 2016

When will online registration for the WYSL 2020 recreation season begin?

Registration generally opens by April 1 of every year, and stays open until around June 1.

We missed the registration deadline, what can I do?

If your child is still interested in playing, you can send an email to with your child's name, birthdate, gender and a copy of birth certificate by June 30, 2020. However, there will be no guarantees of placement on a team. 

What is WYSL Refund Policy?

The "normal" refund policy does not apply in 2020. If you register at our reduced rate of $50, you will not be able to receive a refund unless the season is cancelled, in which case all registrations shall be fully refunded.

Prior to June 1, 2020 - 100% Refund, minus $25 Processing Fee

Prior to July 1, 2020 - 50% Refund

Prior to August 1, 2020 - $25 Refund

After August 1, 2020 - No Refunds

How are players selected?

They simply sign up. This is Recreational Soccer. There are no try-outs and no cuts. Every player plays. There are six age groups for each gender:

 Under 6, Under 8, Under 10, Under 12, Under 14 and Under 16

How are the age groups determined?

US Soccer has recently mandated that age groups be changed to calendar year birthdates rather than "school year" birthdates. The new age groups are listed below:

2014/2015 - used to be called U6

2012/2013 - used to be called U8

2010/2011 - used to be called U10

2008/2009 - used to be called U12

2006/2007 - used to be called U14

2004/2005 - used to be called U16

How do I demonstrate proof of age?

All new players must submit a copy of their birth certificate as proof of age upon registration. If you register at walk-in, please bring a copy of your child's birth certificate. If you register online, you will be asked to upload a copy of your child's birth certificate after you complete registration. You may hand-deliver it or mail it to the WYSL Registrar at the mailing address given below.

How do you sign up?

Either online, using this site, or in-person at the dates and times determined.

How much does it cost?

For 2020 only, all age groups will cost $50 per child.

How old do you have to be to become a referee?

Referees must be at least 12 years of age.

When does the season start?

Practice will hopefully start by August 3, 2020. There will be no Opening Day or Picture Day. There are no games or activities on Labor Day Weekend. Most teams practice two times per week during August. Teams will generally have at least one game per week, sometimes two. Games will be played on Saturdays and Sundays only.
